With full control of the supply chain, The Original Grain Company has been operating a channel into the DRC for the last three years. The channel entails the supply of Maize Meal in 25kg Bags to clients at the Kasumbalesa Border. One Super Link transports 1360 Bags, and we aim to move in convoys of three Super Links at a time. The route takes us unto Botswana, Zambia and then up via the Copper Belt to the DRC Border.
The Maize Meal is milled under license in Hammanskraal, where we supply Maize Kernel from our farming operation. Once milled, it is then bagged and loaded. The transit time to the DRC Border is around 10 days, depending on the Border Delays.
